Physical Training

What you know does not matter - What you do matters

"What you know does not matter - What you do matters. Physical training produces physical memories not simply muscle memory but a psychophysical imprint, knowledge that is instinctual rather than intellectual."

~Mark Twight~

Our Philosophies for physical training are built on training for "functionality" rather than aesthetics. All of us at Pyrokinesis have put our time in the gym, running treadmills & throwing barbells around. In our opinion, this type of training is the equivalent of mental masturbation, a waste of time.

So what do we mean by “training for functionality”? Here are a few examples
Gymnastics, Rock Climbing, Jiu-Jitsu, & Bodyweight Training. Of course there are many more, but these are the areas that peak our interest. Looking at all of these disciplines we can’t think of a single benefit from doing preacher curls, or bench presses. In fact we have found the opposite. When doing these types of exercises we found a loss in flexibility, as well as a lower strength to weight ratio.

In the realm of physical training & fitness, aesthetics is a byproduct of functionality.

More on physical Training soon, we are looking forward to opening our forum to discuss what other people are doing to challenge their minds and bodies.
